You mean a progress bar of the upload, something like this ???
This is NOT possible with PHP (the programming language of phpBB and UploadPic) alone as the website takes control over the upload so the script (UploadPic) only knows when the upload is finished but can not determine how much has been uploaded yet !
There is a solution for PHP, but it has to work together with another programming language, which opens a popup and takes control to check how big the file is before it is uploaded and how fast the connection is. But this feature is probably as big as UploadPic itself and not worth the effort just for a status bar. Also, you will have to install a program on your server to get this working and 99% of all users won't be able to do this.
I guess there's more solutions like Java Applets etc., but all of those can do more harm than good (not talking about the effort to install it) so I guess we'll have to stick with the current version.
Even this (a "moving" bar, that does not show you the progress, it just moves) is NOT possible with PHP only
EDIT:
that point about the "moving bar" was obviously wrong and is now implemented

Das ist etwas völlig anderes:
In dem "Rebuild Search MOD" werden Datenbankabfragen ausgeführt, ich weiß also vorher, wieviele ich ausführen werde und kann nach jeder einzelnen Abfrage andere Funktionen ausführen lassen (wie z.B. den Statusbalken aktualisieren).
Beim Dateiupload weiß ich vorher nicht, wieviele Daten kommen werden und (noch wichtiger): sobald der Upload gestartet wird, "friert" das Skript ein und läuft erst weiter, wenn der Upload beendet ist, dazwischen kann das Skript also noch nicht mal einen Statusbalken aktualisieren (oder Kaffee trinken oder irgendwas anderes).
